The Workin’ Mama’s Spring Cleaning Checklist

I have a confession to make… I’ve never actually done “spring cleaning” before.

I’m hoping that’s you too! Who has time for spring cleaning anyhow??

My weekends with my family are way too short and precious for me to spend days upon days getting the entire house deep cleaned in one swipe.

Instead of going hardcore on a spring-cleaning binge, my goal is to declutter or deep clean a spot in my house for about 15-minutes each day, maybe with a few extra minutes the weekends to catch up on any missed days or to tackle a slightly more extensive project.

Whether you’re a one-and-done kind of gal or you’re like me, trying to fit all the cleaning into the tiny cracks of time in mom-life, this checklist will help you make sure you get your entire house spruced-up at least once during the year.

For the busy workin’ mamas, here is how I recommend getting it done!

Set your priorities.

Make a list of what you absolutely want to get done right away. Everything else goes on a “later” list that you can pick at throughout the year.

Each week, pick seven items to tackle. If you find yourself with a little extra time in the week, you can always grab an extra item off the big list!

Do one small project at a time or one room at a time.

Don’t get overwhelmed with multiple projects at one time or ending up with an entire house that’s turned upside down and needing to be put together. Pick one project or one spot to clean and get it done before moving on to the next item on the list.

Declutter and deep clean.

Decluttering is removing unnecessary items that are taking up space in your home. Don’t get caught up in the trap of constantly reorganizing. Recognize that holding on to unnecessary things is taking up time, space, and money in your life. Make space in your home and in your life by getting rid of unnecessary clutter!

Deep cleaning is washing and sanitizing areas that typically just get wiped down or spot cleaned.

The spring-cleaning checklist includes both decluttering and deep cleaning tasks. Both are important for peace and cleanliness in your home.

What would you add to the list??
